In Rainbow Weaver by Linda Elovitz Marshall, we will learn about Ixchel, a young Mayan girl, and the weavings she creates. We will take a closer look at the woven tapestries of Hyde House and then make our own weaving.

We will read Moonstruck, poems about our moon, a bright ball or sometimes a crescent that lights from the darkness of space. We will create artwork that shines light from the darkness.

We will read about a giant who wished to eat poor Jack in The Giant of Jum by Elli Woollard. What does a scary giant do when others ask for help? We will learn about treating others with kindness by looking at the prints of Francisco Goya and creating a group artwork to share kindness with others.
