Fun and learning at Tours for Tots

How do the parts of a face work together to show happiness, sadness, or anger? We will read All About Faces and explore the portraits of Hyde House. In the classroom, we will create expressive portraits.

10:30 am Thursday, January 16

In Rainbow Weaver by Linda Elovitz Marshall, we will learn about Ixchel, a young Mayan girl, and the weavings she creates. We will take a closer look at the woven tapestries of Hyde House and then make our own weaving.

10:30 am Thursday, January 23

We will read Moonstruck, poems about our moon, a bright ball or sometimes a crescent that lights from the darkness of space. We will create artwork that shines light from the darkness.

10:30 am Thursday, January 30

We will read about a giant who wished to eat poor Jack in The Giant of Jum by Elli Woollard. What does a scary giant do when others ask for help? We will learn about treating others with kindness by looking at the prints of Francisco Goya and creating a group artwork to share kindness with others.
