What is the Innovator’s Council?
The Innovator’s Council is a small, incredible group of art lovers dedicated to The Hyde’s mission of making fine art accessible and who volunteer their dynamic skillsets accordingly. The group, which meets quarterly, combines their personal interests and professional backgrounds with The Hyde’s organizational priorities to open doors to new community partnerships and cultivate original events.
The Innovator’s Council was conceptualized by Co-Vice Chair, Sarah Parker Ward and launched during 2020 in partnership with Hyde staff and the Board of Trustees. Designed to be a cross-over group formed of both young and mid-career professionals from all industries, backgrounds, and interests, the Council has quickly become known for contributing diverse perspectives and dynamic planning conversations. Since its’ founding, the Council continues attracting the best and brightest from across the Adirondack, Saratoga, and Capital District Regions, broadening the Museum’s reach across the communities we serve.
Do I have to work in the arts to participate?
You need not be an artist or arts professional to participate! Curious about how your background can support the goals of the Council and The Hyde? Chat with Director of Development, Kate Wilkins at 518-792-1761, ext. 346 or email [email protected].
Do I have to be nominated?
No, you do not need to be nominated to be considered for membership on the Council; we encourage self advocacy! However, we also welcome recommendations from colleagues and friends across your network who have observed your professional strengths and admire your contributions to causes you care about.
What sorts of projects can I expect to support?
The Council supports all corners of the Museum, and we encourage you to get involved in projects that are most meaningful to you. Are you an outstanding fundraiser? Join our Development and Outreach Committee and provide counsel on key advancement initiatives and events like the annual Luncheon and Gala. Or, if you’re interested in education, help us launch the High School Juried Show “Where Are The Now” program. And, whether you are interested in collections, exhibitions, or any other area, just let us know!
How can being part of the Innovator’s Council grow my network?
As an Innovator’s Council member, you’ll be invited to key events like the Luncheon and Gala and will enjoy exclusive access to VIP Director’s Circle events happening throughout the year. During each of these gatherings, you’ll have a chance to mingle with The Hyde Collection Board of Trustees, as well as community leaders and members from across the region. Additionally, joining the Council affords you the opportunity to serve on a variety of committees, offering additional opportunities for network expansion relevant to your own personal and professional interests.
Can my friends join me at meetings, events, and/or on the Council?
Of course! We hope you share with your network all the benefits of joining the Council and invite them along to the annual Luncheon, Gala and various VIP events throughout the year. Additionally, the Council hosts several mixers throughout the year where current and new members can get to know one another, ask questions and connect with Hyde staff and key Trustees. The more the merrier!
