Here @ The Hyde: Featured Objects from the Permanent Collection
The mid-twentieth century saw greater opportunities for gay artists to be out and support each other as they shaped the international art world.
Drawn from The Hyde’s collection, this exhibition presents the work of the LGBTQ+ artists, who came to prominence after World War II, like Betty Parsons, Robert Rauschenberg, and Andy Warhol. They, in turn, created a scene in which subsequent generations of artists, from David Hockney to Keith Haring found their place.
The 2022 Season of Exhibitions at The Hyde Collection is sponsored in honor of Louis P. Brown.
