Ekphrastic Writing Workshop with Jackie Goodwin
$15 / $10 for members
Ekphrastic writing is inspired by visual art, in the form of an essay, poetry, or fiction. Join us for a workshop for writers of all levels. By taking inspiration from a work of art, the writer creates a unique collaboration with the artist and reader. In the first session we will examine and discuss examples of ekphrastic writing before exploring the current exhibits at the Hyde to discover the works that inspire us. Then we will meet to write and talk.
In the second 60-minute workshop session, we will share our reactions to the experience and our writing.

Hyde Collection is one of the northeast’s exceptional small art museums
Comparable to that of a major metropolitan museum, the core collection, acquired by the Museum's founders, Louis and Charlotte Hyde, includes works by artists such as Sandro Botticelli, El Greco, Rembrandt, Peter Paul Rubens, Childe Hassam, Winslow Homer, and Whistler.
