The Hyde Summer Luncheon
Monday, July 21, 2025
The Sagamore Resort
Here at The Hyde, summer means sharing our gratitude with dedicated champions during the annual Luncheon on the shores of Lake George. This year, the celebration honors friend and former Executive Director, Erin M. Coe. During her steadfast leadership, Erin steered The Hyde to new heights through the acquisition of the Feibes + Schmitt Collection and spearheaded the expansion of the modern museum complex visitors enjoy today.
On Monday, July 21st, The Hyde will host the 2025 Hyde Summer Luncheon at The Sagamore Resort on Shelving Rock Terrace as we celebrate Erin’s impact on the Museum and our community. The Summer Luncheon—held annually to recognize the late Charlotte Miller’s commitment to the arts—allows us to highlight the achievements of artistic and cultural changemakers like Erin in our region, while raising capacity building funds for The Hyde.
The Luncheon also offers a chance to network with industry leaders across various sectors including arts and culture, tourism and hospitality, healthcare, and more. With an average attendance of 175-200 guests, this event offers prospective sponsors and advertisers excellent brand visibility opportunities across our shared community and throughout the event space.
We invite you to show your support for this event and the Museum by joining the Honorary Committee, or as a sponsor or advertiser. To take full advantage of the recognition opportunities outlined here, we appreciate receiving your commitment no later than June 25th. If you have questions about the annual Summer Luncheon, please contact Director of Development, Christine Hoard at [email protected] or at 518-7921761 ext. 320.
Introducing 2025 Luncheon Honoree: Erin M. Coe
During her steadfast leadership at The Hyde Collection, which spanned a total of 18 years, Erin M. Coe served as the Museum’s Chief Curator before advancing to Executive Director, a position she held until 2017. As Chief Curator, Erin oversaw more than 45 exhibitions, authored over a dozen publications, contributed to national art periodicals, and juried several regional and national shows. During her tenure as Executive Director, Erin led a capital project that included an expansion and renovation to the Museum’s 1989 Edward Larabee Barnes-designed exhibition wing and secured the Feibes + Schmitt Collection, a major gift of postwar modern art that resulted in the addition of a new gallery dedicated to modern and contemporary art. Before stepping down from The Hyde Collection, Erin was honored with a Congressional Recognition for her years of dedication to cultivating and promoting the arts in New York’s 21st District.
In January 2025, Erin was appointed Executive Director of the Rockwell Museum in Corning, New York. Under her leadership, The Rockwell Museum aims to build on its legacy as a Smithsonian Affiliate and to serve as an essential cultural institution in the region with compelling exhibitions and dynamic programming on the horizon. Coe’s distinguished career most recently includes her tenure at the Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State, where as Director she provided transformative leadership, re-envisioning the Museum’s mission and goals, enhancing its national reputation, as well as the strategic direction of the institution, which celebrated its 50th anniversary as the university art museum at Penn State in 2022. She was at the forefront of a major capital project resulting in a new 73,000 square foot state-of-the-art building for the Palmer located in the Arboretum at Penn State.
Coe holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Mexico, a master’s degree from the University at Albany, State University of New York, and worked on a doctorate in the history of art and architecture at Boston University.
