Join artist John Hampshire to explore the art of portrait drawing. Participants will investigate portraits by Edgar Degas on view in the Museum and practice essential drawing techniques. This class will focus on proportion and structure to create artworks that naturally attract the viewers’ attention. All necessary materials will be provided for this class.

John Hampshire is a Professor of Studio Art at SUNY Adirondack and has had numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally. He is the recipient of many honors and awards, including a SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creativity, a NYFA fellowship grant, and a Purchase Award from the Hyde Collection.
