Robert Flynn Johnson, Curator Emeritus of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, will discuss his quest of over forty years to collect the works of Edgar Degas and to seek to understand the character and motivation of this complex master who transformed our way of looking at art. Johnson is the collector and co-curator of Edgar Degas, The Private Impressionist: Works on Paper by the Artist and his Circle.
