Kyra Lombard | de Blasiis Music Series

April 9, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

American pianist Kyra Lombard is currently pursuing a bachelor of music degree at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music under Peter Takács. Her ultimate goal is to bring glory and honor to God through the gifts that He has graciously given her. She uses music to show others the love of Jesus offered to all who trust in Him. She was awarded Honorable Mention in Classical Music by the National Young Arts Foundation and first prize in the Tuesday Musical Scholarship Competition. Furthermore, she won the Gold Prize in the recent Musicale Music Festival and was the winner of the Louise DeFeo Parillo Piano Concerto Competition.

Performance highlights include Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Schenectady Symphony Orchestra at Proctors Theater and a solo recital at the Marcella Sembrich Opera Museum. Additionally, she is the recent recipient of the WMHT Classical Student Musician of the Month and the second prize winner of the Rosewood Fanning Piano Competition. Kyra also enjoys chamber music and recently performed as part of the Cleveland Cello Society.

Ms. Lombard has attended such festivals as Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival, Philadelphia Young Pianists’ Academy, Bowdoin International Music Festival, and the Crane International Piano Festival. Kyra has performed in masterclasses with artists such as Gary Graffman, Jerome Lowenthal, Ursula Oppens, Alexander Korsantia, Alexandre Moutouzkine, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Ching-Yun Hu, Jean-Louis Haguenauer, and Krystian Tkaczewski.
