Weaving together interviews, first-person essays, and artist profiles, This Long Thread by Jen Hewett explores the work and contributions of people of color across the fiber arts and crafts community, representing a wide spectrum of race, age, region, cultural identity, education, and economic class. This book celebrates the diverse work of people of color in the craft community and explores the personal, political, and creative potential of textile arts and crafts.

Join Hyde staff and volunteers and Crandall Public Library staff for an in-gallery book discussion inspired by the exhibition Wall Power! Spectacular Quilts from the American Folk Art Museum. There is a copy of the book at Crandall Library and it can be purchased at Northshire Bookstore in Saratoga Springs. To receive a 20 percent discount, request the book being held under The Hyde Reading Group.

Free for Hyde Members / Free with Museum admission for non-members
