Join us for an in-gallery book discussion inspired by the exhibition Jose Guadalupe Posada: Legendary Printmaker of Mexico. The Underdogs: A Novel of Mexican Revolution written by Mariano Azuela and translated by Sergio Waisman, was first published in 1915 and tells the story of a peasant farmer’s part in the rebellion, marking the start of the Mexican Revolution in 1910. Azuela started composing the novel while he participated in the Mexican Revolution first-hand as a physician in the army of Francisco Pancho Villa.
