Join other readers for a discussion of the life of Mary Granville Pendarves Delany who at the age of 72 launched into a successful career as a creator of flower mosaics. These realistic paper collages have many similarities to the work in our current exhibition A Feast of Fruit and Flowers: Women Still Life Painters of the Seventeenth Century and Beyond. Our featured book The Paper Garden: An Artist {Begins Her Life’s Work} at 72 by Molly Peacock is part biography, part history lesson, and part art appreciation. This book discussion will include a guided collage workshop to design individual paper collages inspired by Delany’s stunning cut paper collages. All abilities are welcome and all materials will be provided.
