Art After Hours | Printmaking and Craft Beer Sampling

Join Dr. Glenn A. Long for a presentation on the history and process of printmaking and explore various examples on view in the exhibition The Harmon and Harriet Kelley Collection of African American Art. Join education staff in the art studio prior to the lecture to create your own print!
About Dr. Glenn Long
Dr. Long received his college education at Ohio University: Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts in painting, printmaking, and photography, and Ph.D. in the History of Painting, Sculpture, and Music. He has taught art at a number of institutions including Bethany College, The Maryland Institute, College of Art, Johns Hopkins University, Morgan State University, Florida International University and the New World School of the Arts. Dr. Long has served in leadership roles at The Baltimore Museum of Art, Sunrise Foundation, and the Metropolitan Museum and Art Center in Coral Gables, Florida. In 2021, Dr. Long was appointed Interim Executive Director of the Historical Society of the Town of Bolton and Bolton Historical Museum (on Lake George) in Bolton Landing, New York.
While getting his MFA, Glenn was the Teaching Assistant in the print studio in the School of Art at Ohio University, working with intaglio printmaker David Dreisbach and painter/printmaker, Tamarind Institute Fellow and Master Lithographic Printer Donald Roberts. Dr. Long has been engaged with prints and printmaking, both aesthetically and commercially, in the intervening six decades.
