Creative Community Programs

The Hyde is dedicated to enriching the lives of those residing and visiting our community. With a focus on arts education, The Hyde encourages children, families, adults, and seniors to engage in art activities, community days, and special program partnerships. On the second Sunday of every month, The Hyde throws open its doors for a free day, and the Museum hosts a Community Day in the summer.

Glens Falls is home to a vibrant community of arts, cultural, and community-based organizations. Neighboring museums include the World Awareness Children’s Museum and the Chapman Historical Museum; visual arts institutions include the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council, the Shirt Factory, and the Lake George Arts Project; and performing arts groups include Adirondack Theatre Festival, Lake George Chamber Orchestra, the Adirondack Film Fest, and the Glens Falls Symphony Orchestra. The Hyde collaborates with many of these groups – as well as regional businesses – to create programs and activities that serve the greater community.
