Living with art

A new program at Skidmore College allows students to “borrow” works of art from The Tang’s extensive collection, giving them the opportunity to live with fine art.

In a recent article in the Times Union, Tang Director Ian Berry is quoted as saying, “It allows for our students to get to know our art collection, the artwork and artist in a way they’ve never been able to do before.”

Skidmore isn’t alone in offering such programs. According to the article, Oberlin College, MIT, the University of Minnesota, and Williams College all offer similar opportunities for their students.

Unfortunately, The Hyde can’t let you take any of its collection home, but if you could, which artwork would you hang on your wall?
