Give membership a try!

On Saturday, The Hyde will host a Member Opening event from 2 to 5 pm for Dox Thrash, Black Life, and the Carborundum Mezzotint and Francisco Goya: The Caprichos Etchings and Aquatints.

Whenever there is a Member Opening — a free event for Museum members, one of many perks of membership — we offer a “Member for a Day” experience. Visitors can pay our regular admission fee ($12 general admission; $10 for seniors; free for students with ID, children, veterans, active military), plus a $5 activity fee, then partake in the day’s festivities.

We invite you to join us this weekend. Experience a member opening — enjoy light refreshments, a gallery talk by Hyde Director of Curatorial Affairs Jonathan Canning, friendly conversations with some really wonderful people in the community, and amazing art — and, if you decide to become a member, we will deduct the cost of admission and the activity fee from the cost of signing on.

Membership is extremely reasonable and has great benefits. Starting a $60 a year for an Individual Membership, you receive free admission, free member events (like openings, but also member-exclusive events such as Tour Talk Tea), regular updates on insider news, newsletters, discounts in the Museum Shop, and — an unbelievable benefit for the value — reciprocal admission at participating museums in New York for lower-level membership or the country for more advanced membership packages.

Membership helps The Hyde continue to offer such wonderful exhibitions and programs, and to maintain care of the collection. Most importantly, Hyde members are a community of really warm, friendly people who care about creativity, art, and the community.
