Fall’s harvest
October means cooler weather, falling leaves, and Picasso, Braque & Léger!
Picasso and Braque met in Paris in 1910 and created a new art style, Cubism. Fernand Léger took the idea of Cubism and created his own unique version called tubism.
All three artists are masters of change and creativity. This exhibition includes prints that were published in literature.
Opening on October 12, Artists of Mohawk Hudson Region showcases local contemporary artists who are creating in response to their current world. How do you see your world?

CIAL TOURS FOR TOTS
On October 31, The Hyde will offer a special Tours for Tots program for all our little artist friends! We will explore the dark and shadows, find out who lives in the dark, and learn how to be brave when the lights are out.
Costumes are welcome, if you wish to dress up! (Please note that this is not a celebration of Halloween, so families who don’t celebrate will feel comfortable at this inclusive event.)
Art Crawl
10:30 am Friday, October 4
This month, inspired by the season and artworks from our permanent collection that depict the change of season, our littlest artists will explore the sounds, smells, and colors of fall.
On the first Friday of each month, babies and their caregivers are invited to discover at the Museum. Each program includes an activity designed especially for little ones with an art material exploration and play.
ATTENDANCE is free, but donations are appreciated.
Art Lab
1 to 4 pm Sunday, October 13
We will explore how to create an agamograph. Inspired by artworks that express contrasting ideas in the Artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region exhibition, we will create two artworks in one using this art technique.
Admission to The Hyde Collection is free the second Sunday of every month. From 1 to 4 pm, our educators host Art Lab, a free gallery and art-making activity that fosters creativity, collaboration, and innovation among all ages. Families and individuals can drop in and participate in an educator-led exercise challenging the expectation of what art is and how it enhances our lives. Free.
ADMISSION is free. No RSVP is necessary.
