The Hyde Collection welcomes Tawn Malison — May 23

GLENS FALLS, NY — The Hyde Collection announces the hiring of Tawn Malison as Director of External Affairs, a role in which she will lead the Museum’s marketing, communications, and development efforts.

“We’re thrilled to have Tawn joining our team,” said Hyde Director Erin Coe. “She has a proven track record in fundraising and marketing, and she understands the importance for nonprofit organizations to have strong relationships throughout the community.”

Malison comes to The Hyde with more than ten years’ experience in fundraising, development, and marketing for a number of regional nonprofit organizations. Most recently, she served as the annual giving and donor relations coordinator at Glens Falls Hospital. There, she managed fundraising campaigns, planned and marketed events, and maintained donor relations. She helped secure a $250,000 gift for The Snuggery, and was part of the fundraising team that secured a $1 million donation for the facility. Before that, she worked as fundraising coordinator at the Muscular Dystrophy Association and as a team leader for fundraising at Vanderheyden Hall, a Wynantskill-based nonprofit group that provides services for children in need and at-risk youth.

“I am honored to have the privilege of joining an exceptional team of driven individuals here at The Hyde,” Malison said. “The Hyde is a gem within the art world and we are fortunate to have it as part of our community. I look forward to the continued growth of The Hyde and supporting the unique joy it brings to all who walk through its doors.”

Malison joins the Museum as it prepares to open on June 10 the Feibes & Schmitt Gallery, a 1,500-square-foot addition dedicated to Contemporary and Modern art. The new gallery is the result of a gift from Werner Feibes and the late James Schmitt, who donated their $10 million art collection and a $1 million leadership donation.

Malison lives in Glens Falls with her husband and two children. She started at the Museum on May 22.
