Update on the Artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region Exhibition

For the past 87 years, artists and art lovers have come together to celebrate our region’s rich arts and culture by contributing to, viewing, and hosting the annual Artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region (AMHR) exhibition. Therefore, the partnering institutions who have hosted the exhibition in the past—The Albany Institute of History & Art, The Hyde Collection, and The University Art Museum—regret to announce we collectively have made the challenging decision to not host an Artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region exhibition in 2023 or in the foreseeable future.

We recognize and appreciate that this is unwelcome news to our community. Please know that we believe in celebrating the talents of our region’s artists. Unfortunately, current constraints at all three institutions have made it untenable for us to continue hosting the AMHR as it has been conceived in the past.

We are working hard with arts organizations and artists of the region to redevelop the AMHR for future years. We are planning to host an online town hall meeting this fall with regional artists and arts organizations to discuss the future of the AMHR. We look forward to this important community conversation. Please stay tuned for more information.
