Community Soundscape

May 31 – September 15
Have you ever wanted to be part of one of our exhibitions? Now’s your chance!
Become a sound artist and record an audio clip of your community to be incorporated into the Richard Estes: Urban Landscape exhibit at The Hyde!
For this community soundscape, we hope to capture audio from all surrounding locations—urban or rural, industrial or natural, from Glens Falls to far beyond. All you need to do is step outside and record what you hear around you! The collected audio will be edited together to create a unique soundscape that will be incorporated into our exhibition and shared digitally.

June 20, 5 pm – 8 pm
We have an incredible night of programming lined up for this month’s Art After Hours event!
Start with a discussion of Michael Finkel’s “The Art Thief,” a riveting story of art, crime, love, and an insatiable hunger to possess beauty at any cost. Then take a trip outside for a special tour of our outdoor sculptures before heading down to our auditorium for an exclusive sneak preview of the Adirondack Theatre Festival’s 30th season.
