Group Tour Booking Procedure

Group Tours at The Hyde Collection provide an enriching learning experience. We offer a diverse curriculum and a range of activities for groups of all ages and needs. Please let us know if you have any specific goals, and we will design a tour to suit your requirements. All tours must be requested at least 14 days prior to your desired date.


Types of Tours

Museum Tour:  The average time of this tour is 1 hour and 30 minutes

- 10 minute intro to The Hyde in the auditorium, a grouping of students for their tours, and a review of Rotunda exhibit.
- 40 minute docent led tour of The Hyde House.
- 40 minute guided tour of the special exhibit galleries with an optional interactive gallery activity, ie. Pencil sketching.


Art Studio and Museum Tour: The average time of this tour is 2 hours and 10 minutes

- 10 minute intro to The Hyde in the auditorium, a grouping of students for their tours, and a review of Rotunda exhibit.
- 40 minute docent led tour of The Hyde House.
- 40 minute guided tour of the special exhibit galleries with an optional interactive gallery activity, ie. Pencil sketching.
- 40 minute art lesson and project with our museum educators in our art studio. 
(You may request the theme of the project, or let our educators choose.  Students take home their projects)

Note:  You may also choose to not have a docent led tour and explore the museum on your own.


Pricing

The rate for Group tours are $10 per person, which includes a docent led tour.
Group Tours must include a minimum of ten people.  If not, the regular admission fee is charged.
Adding a studio activity is an additional $2 per person.
A $50 deposit is required to book your tour.
The additional balance can be paid at the front desk at the start of your tour.


Booking Procedure

1.       Read Museum Manners at The Hyde Collection

2.       Download the Acrobat PDF FileGroup Tour Request Form

3.       You may download the document and type in the data, or print it and enter the data by hand.

4.       Sign and date the bottom of the form

5.       Return the form to our education department through one of the following means

6.       Pay the $50 deposit by one of the following means

Mail or drop off a check to the above address     -OR-   By credit card over the phone (518-792-1761)      

7.       Please allow three business days for us to email you a confirmation form, or propose additional dates if your request is already booked.

8.       Your tour is not booked until your confirmation form is received. 

9.        If your group size changes the day of your tour, additional docents cannot be guaranteed.

*A forfeiture of your docent-guided tour may be imposed if the group is more than 20 minutes late.
