2008 Annual Fund

They say enthusiasm is contagious.

"The Hyde Collection is not only an outstanding cultural and educational institution, it also makes important contributions to the economy of the Glens Falls area."
Governor George Pataki

"The Collection is without dispute a remarkable resource for art lovers."
The New York Times

Please give to the 2008 Annual Fund

Why give to the fund?

The annual fund is another way that you can show your support and appreciation for The Hyde. Annual fund donors are among the Museum's most dedicated and important contributors who have an appreciation of the important role The Hyde Collection plays in enhancing its community and region.

The annual fund is vital to the growth and continued excellence of the Museum. It provides support for our permanent collection, educational programs, and temporary exhibitions.

Increase the value of your gift at no additional cost to you!

Many companies participate in matching programs, which double or triple the value of your gift. Please ask your human resources officer if your employer will match your gift to The Hyde Collection. If so, obtain a matching gift form and enclose it with your gift. Some companies will extend matching gift program benefits to retirees.

* Your Annual Fund contribution is fully tax-deductible as no goods or services are provided in exchange.

imageCURATOR'S SOCIETY

Nothing is more central to The Hyde Collection's mission than the artwork - its presentation, care, and conservation.  It is the Museum's reason for being; it defines and directs us and guides our very action.  On their own, paintings, drawings, and sculpture, furniture and decorative pieces are simply objects.  Their vitality rests in our interaction with them, for art and audience are inseparable.  The role of the Museum is to bring these inanimate objects to life - to enable you and  thousands of others to see history with your own eyes, to experience new beauty, to gain insight into cultures past and present, to appreciate a new perspective.

The Curator's Society supports this mission, and we invite you to participate.  This directed giving option has been established to support curatorial activities, specifically special exhibitions, the care and conservation of the permanent collection, and the loaning and borrowing of artwork for the benefit of the Museum and the public.

By joining the Curator's Society, you demonstrate your commitment to the arts and enjoy a level of participation like no other at The Hyde Collection.

Your donation of $1,200 (or more) entitles you to the following exclusive and rare opportunities for one year:

  • Special preview tours of Charles R. Wood Gallery exhibitions
  • A twice annual Hyde Curator's Society Newsletter that provides advance notice of special exhibitions, permanent collection loans and conservation plans, and other interesting curatorial topics
  • Your name(s) listed on the wall of the Charles R. Wood Gallery for the entire year
  • Once annual listing in each of the Museum's quarterly newsletters
  • Mention of the Curator's Society's support in each exhibition announcement
  • Other related opportunities as they arise, such as a visit to art storage with Hyde staff to see a newly restored or conserved work from the collection or an item that has recently returned from loan

The Curator's Society is not a level of individual membership but a fully tax-deductible annual contribution to specifically supporting curatorial activities.

To join the Curator's Society, please contact Christine Dawson,  director of development, at 518-792-1761, ext. 36 or email cdawson@hydecollection.org.
