ATTENTION TEACHERS Annual Regional Juried High School Come See What’s Happening All school tours and studio activities are offered free of charge to school groups. However, we ask teachers to recommend that students consider a donation of $2.00 each. The Hyde Collection can assist in defraying bus costs for qualified schools. Contact us at 518-792-1761, ext.17 for details. SCHOOL TOURS The Hyde Collection offers a unique combination of historic house and modern museum complex. A qualified museum educator (called a docent) will guide your class visit. All programs are easily integrated into classroom curriculums and meet New York State Learning Standards. School programs may include tours of historic Hyde House, special exhibitions, and hands-on projects in the Louis P. Brown Art Studio. Tour themes include: Portraits in Art; Art Critique; Architecture; Stories in Art; The Middle Ages and The Renaissance; and Superstars of Art. You can also let us help you plan an exciting trip to fit your specific classroom needs. To schedule a tour, please contact the museum educator at 518-792-1761, ext. 17. LUNCH IN THE BUTTERFLY GARDEN Schedule a visit in the fall or spring and receive special access to the Butterfly Garden. There, your class can enjoy their bag lunches near the fountain, among the beautiful flowers and shady trees. MUSEUM ON THE GO! Have The Hyde come to your classroom as a pre-visit or stand-alone program. Fee: $30 “TAKE-BACK” PACKS Don’t have time for your class to stop and shop in The Museum Store? To make your trip easy and memorable, the Museum now offers “Take-Back” Packs. Order packs before your trip and they will be waiting for your class at the end of your visit. These packs are filled with carefully selected items suitable for students in grades 1-6. Look for order forms in your school tour confirmation packet. School Programs are supported by:
