The Museum's Education Department offers special programming for children during School Vacations!
Renoir’s Book Club: A Vacation Workshop
The Hyde and The Crandall Public Library are offering a summer vacation workshop for children ages 7-12. Participants will read and listen to stories about Renoir and other famous Impressionist artists. After exploring works by Renoir and other Impressionists from the Museum’s permanent collection, students will create their own Impressionist masterpieces. At the end of the week students will showcase their work for friends and family to see. Fee: $60 Hyde members; $70 not-yet members.

Fine Arts Camp
Do you have a serious young artist in your family? The Fine Arts Camp is designed for those students (ages 12-14) who are dedicated to the arts. The course will explore the fundamentals of drawing in a variety of media. Students will work from original works of art in the Museum’s permanent collection and explore a variety of drawing media including charcoal, pastels, oil crayons, and colored pencils. All materials will be provided but students can also bring their own if they prefer. Students will work in the Louis P. Brown Art Studio and Hyde House. Space is limited to 15 students, registration deadline is July 31. Taught by the director of education. Cost: $80 Hyde members, $90 not-yet members.
