ART A LA CARTE - The First Wednesday of Every Month!
This exciting program allows adults to learn about the history of art by exploring the permanent collection. Bring a bag lunch and an appetite for art! Each session is held in the Louis P. Brown Studio from 11:50AM to 1PM. This adult program is offered FREE for returning and new docents/hostesses; FREE for Hyde members; $3 for not-yet members. FAMILY DISCOVERY DAY - The Third Sunday of Every Month!
Discovery Day will be held on the third Sunday of each month from 1 to 3PM at the Museum. Discovery Day is designed with the whole family in mind, and includes a guided tour with a hands-on art activity in the Louis P. Brown Art Studio. By encouraging monthly visits, this program offers a new theme or "Discovery" each time children and their families visit. There is always something new to see and learn at The Hyde! ARTFULL AFTERNOONS
A Drop-in program each Wednesday throughout the school year for children ages 6-12 with adult chaperone. Each week children are invited to visit The Hyde Collection to learn about a specific artist and work of art from the Museum's permanent collection. Children will explore a variety of atistic mediums as they create their own Hyde-inspired masterpiece. This program follows the Glens Falls School District Calendar and is not held during school and summer vacations or on snow days. Sponsored by Stewart's Shops.
TOURS FOR TOTS!
Every Tuesday, Children ages 3-6 and their families are offered a guided tour with a museum educator of historic Hyde House, the permanent collection, or current exhibitions. Afterward, children and chaperones are invited to create their own works of art in the Louis P. Brown Art Studio. A new topic each time! Register weekly by calling 518-792-1761, ext. 17.
