The Hyde Collection understands that our website visitors entrust us with protecting their privacy whether the visit is simply to browse our web pages, make a donation, purchase tickets, or become a member. For this reason, we do not collect personal information about you unless you knowingly provide that information to submit a request or to allow us to process a requested transaction. When you use The Hyde website, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of our Privacy Policy as provided below:

Online retail and registration transactions

Online Purchases

When you order tickets or make reservations at our website for paid programming sponsored by The Hyde, we must collect your name, billing address, telephone number, e-mail address, and credit card information (which will be used solely to process your order).

Online Memberships and Donations

The Hyde Collection now provides you with the ability to purchase a membership or renew your membership on our website. In addition, supporters of the Museum can make a donation online, as well. Those paying for memberships or making donations will be asked to provide us with information needed to process the membership or acknowledge the donation. The same information collected for purchases is required for online membership purchase and contributions.

Online Surveys

At some time, The Hyde may ask our web visitors or those on our email lists to provide us with input via surveys posted on our Website or sent via e-mail. The information gathered via these surveys is used to enhance our visitor experience but you may or may not choose to complete such surveys.

Children on our website

The Hyde does not solicit personal information from children. Visitors fourteen years of age and under should obtain an adult's permission before submitting any personal information to our website or any other website.

Members E-Newsletter

As a service to our members, The Hyde Collection offers an electronic newsletter sent via email a maximum of two times per month. Members wishing to enroll to receive the e-newsletter are asked to send an email with the words “E-newsletter enrollment” in the subject line to dpotter@hydecollection.org. Email addresses collected for this purpose are added to the Museum’s member information database and may be used for the Museum to contact enrollees regarding other events and items of interest. You may subscribe or unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions included with each such email.

Online Visitor News

From time to time, The Hyde may offer online visitors who are non-members information via email concerning upcoming exhibitions, events and programming, etc. Non-members wishing to receive such notifications, calendars of events, etc, may subscribe to this service by sending an email with the word “Update enrollment” to dpotter@hydecollection.org. You may subscribe or unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions included with each such email.

Cookies

Cookies are small pieces of information stored on your computer's hard drive by your Web browser. The cookies associated with The Hyde’s website do not include you personal information. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can change your browser preferences so that it will not accept cookies. However, to use all the features of the Museum’s website, you will need to accept cookies, especially with regard to making reservations and donations or purchasing memberships or tickets.

Use and disclosure of information collected via the website

The personal information you provide to us is used for internal purposes, such as processing orders, analyzing trends, and collecting statistics. The Hyde may also aggregate statistics about our visitors, customers, sales, traffic patterns, and related site information for use in grant proposals and with other third parties, but these statistics will not include any personally identifying information. The Museum does not share or sell any of the information gathered with any third party organization unless required to complete a transaction you request.

Use of Outside Vendors

The Hyde Collection may retain qualified third-party vendors to help us provide services via our website and allow us to better serve our visitors. These vendors may include third-party processors for online transactions, and surveys, etc. We may also contract with companies to provide such services as credit card processing and data management. All vendors are required to maintain the security of this information and restricts the vendors from using the information in any way other than its originally intended purpose.

For the convenience and interest of our web visitors, www.hydecollection.org may include links to websites operated by third parties. The Hyde has no control over third party sites so it is important to note that once you leave The Hyde’s website, our privacy policy does not apply and your accessing those sites is at your own risk.

The secure server software used for The Hyde Collection website is industry-standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology. SSL encodes your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, as it travels over the Internet so that all transactions are secure. If you prefer, you may also make a reservations, pay membership dues, make donations, or purchase will-call tickets by phone at 518-792-1761.

Privacy Policy Revisions

The Hyde reserves the right to make changes to its privacy policy at any time, without notice. Such changes become effective immediately upon posting on the website. Revisions may occur as a result of organizational policy, legal or other factors. We invite you to periodically visit this page to review current policies.
