Hyde introduces Tights & Tutus Tuesdays

Hyde launches Tights & Tutus Tuesdays; Highlights new Artist’s Studio for kids
Glens Falls, NY – Beginning Tuesday, August 18, The Hyde Collection introduces “Tights & Tutus Tuesdays” - a new program to encourage families to visit the Museum and its current exhibition – Degas & Music. The program was designed to bring families to see the exhibition and to introduce those with young children to The Hyde’s new Artist’s Studio.
Each Tuesday through the mid-October end of the Degas & Music exhibition, children are encouraged to visit The Hyde in their favorite costume that includes tights or a tutu. The theme of the Tuesday events was chosen to reflect Degas’ interest in the world of dance, as well as music. Adults accompanying the costumed children will receive half-price general admission to Degas & Music. (Children under 14 are admitted free throughout the run of the show, courtesy of a sponsorship by Stewart’s Shops.)
“The new Artist’s Studio is designed to spark children’s imaginations – providing wall-mounted easels for creating art and a dress-up area to get them into character,” said Setford. “This new space opened with Degas & Music and there is hardly a day that goes by without young visitors trying their hand at a unique masterpiece.”
General admission for Degas & Music is $10; seniors, active military, and students with ID, $8; and $5 for Hyde members. Historic Hyde House admission is by donation. The Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and on Sunday from noon to 5 pm. For more information, contact The Hyde at 518-792-1761.
