Hyde after Dark debuts

image  The Hyde Collection announces the debut of Hyde after Dark, a new event which opens the Museum for evenings of music, socializing, and art. On Thursday, May 7, 2009, Hyde after Dark premieres from 5:30 – 8:00 pm.

“The Museum evening concept has been on our agenda for some time,” said Executive Director David F. Setford. “We want to offer area residents, including the area’s young professionals who may not have visited The Hyde, a chance to experience the Museum with an added twist.”

Setford added that scheduling the event in the early evening was designed to make it as convenient as possible for potential visitors to come directly after work and socialize with friends while enjoying the Museum.

“The Hyde certainly presents a unique place to unwind after work and encourages people to stay and enjoy downtown Glens Falls,” said Setford.

Hyde after Dark on the 7th will offer live music by the Tony Jenkins Jazz Trip, light appetizers, a beer and wine bar, and self tours of the 18th Annual Regional Juried High School Art Exhibition in the Charles R. Wood Gallery and the exhibition of Old Masters prints currently on display in the Hoopes Gallery.

Tickets for Hyde after Dark are $5 for members, $10 for non-member advanced purchase, and $12 for general admission at the door. Call the Museum at 518-792-1761, ext. 23 for additional information, to add your name to the Hyde after Dark electronic invitation list, or to purchase advance tickets for the event. Individuals purchasing a new Museum membership at Hyde after Dark get in free of charge.

The event is sponsored by Davidson Brothers Restaurant and Brewery and media sponsor is The Chronicle.
