2017 High School Juried Show
Work on the upcoming annual High School Juried Show is well underway. The exhibition features competing area students who hail from Warren, Washington, Saratoga, Hamilton, and Essex counties. Works are reviewed and selected by a jury composed of local art professionals. Hyde Educator Jenny Hutchinson has been working closely with Katherine M. Patterson, Russell Serrianne, and Philip Casabona to whittle a field of more than 750 entries down to 200 semifinalists. On Saturday, April 29, the four jurors will select the 100 finalists.
Ms. Patterson teaches art and design at SUNY Adirondack and Saratoga Arts Center. Mr. Serrianne lives in Glens Falls, where he has had a studio at the Shirt Factory since 2006. Mr. Casabona is the festivals and shop coordinator of LARAC.
On Saturday, May 6, The Hyde is holding a Teacher Appreciation event, honoring art educators from throughout the region. On Sunday, May 7, the Museum will host the opening of the High School Juried Show, with an event for students and their families from 1 to 4 pm, and an awards ceremony at 2 pm.
The exhibition opens to the public Sunday, May 7.
