Hyde Receives Grant From Target Stores
Glens Falls, NY – The Hyde Collection has announced it is a recipient of a $3,000 grant from the Target Corporation to support the Museum’s 2004-2005 School Programs. Each year, The Hyde introduces art and history to nearly six thousand teachers and students from forty area school districts. At no cost to the students or their respective schools, participating teachers can either choose from sixteen unique standardized programs or have a program built as a compliment to their specific needs and classroom curricula. All of The Hyde’s School Programs meet New York State Learning Standards for the Arts, English Language Arts, and/or Social Studies and utilize the permanent collection, consisting of both old and modern masters, as well as any relevant temporary exhibitions. Program specific writing and hands-on art activities are available for all participating teachers and students. The Target Corporation grant enables The Hyde Collection to continue to serve as a valuable free resource to all area schools.
Target Corporation has a strong tradition of giving back to the communities where they do business. That commitment is reflected in Target Stores’ grant-making program, which supports projects that promote the arts, education, and family violence prevention.
