Portrait of Henry Ossawa Tanner on loan
Thomas Eakins Portrait of Henry Ossawa Tanner will be on loan to the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) as part of their exhibition, Henry Ossawa Tanner: Modern Spirit. This is a major retrospective of the artist and not only celebrates Tanner's position in American art as a pioneering African-American artist, but it seeks to establish him as one of the most significant expatriate artists of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
