MHR-80 Book Launch
Book Launch Event
5:30 pm Friday, December 16
The Hyde Collection's release of its commemorative-edition catalogue at a Book Launch Event has been rescheduled to 5:30 pm Friday, December 16. The Museum continues its celebration of the eightieth annual exhibition by Artists of the Mohawk-Hudson Region (MHR) with the release of the 186-page full-color book. Please join us to meet the artists whose work is included in this long-standing juried show of Contemporary art and have your book signed by juror and curator Michael Oatman.
The catalogue features essays by Oatman and Hyde Director Erin Coe, a complete exhibition checklist, images of MHR artwork, and an ephemeral timeline documenting the show's eight-decade history. Each artist's work is featured alongside notes capturing Oatman's original reaction.
Oatman is a Troy-based artist and professor in the School of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute who, with Coe, re-envisioned MHR, the longest-running juried regional show in the United States. The exhibition features works by 106 artists, displayed in three of the Museum's galleries, on its grounds, and — for the first time ever — in historic Hyde House.
MHR is a regional show in which artists living within 100 miles of the Capital Region and Glens Falls are invited to submit works.
a catalogue specially priced for the
Book Launch Event at $25. Additional copies of the book are
