Last 2009 Hyde after Dark event - September 3

The third Hyde after Dark of 2009 is scheduled for 5:30 pm on Thursday, September 3, 2009, an early start to the Labor Day weekend. This event, which opens the Museum for evenings of music, socializing, and art, debuted in May of this year and brought in more than 200 people to The Hyde after normal Museum hours.

“We have been thrilled with the success of Hyde after Dark,” said Executive Director David F. Setford. “Our 2009 events were to be a trial run to see if the concept would work in Glens Falls and surely we have our answer!”

Setford added that Hyde after Dark will become part of the regular offerings at the Museum for 2010, based on the interest shown by this year’s attendees. In addition to allowing individuals who work during the day to experience the historic house in an evening visit, Hyde after Dark also allows the institution to showcase the changing exhibitions. The event was designed to make it as convenient as possible for potential visitors to come directly after work and socialize with friends while enjoying the Museum.

Hyde after Dark on the 3rd will feature live music by Lyl Harper, light appetizers, a beer and wine bar, and an opportunity to view the current Degas & Music exhibition.

Tickets for Hyde after Dark are $5 for members, $10 for non-member advanced purchase, and $12 for general admission at the door. Admission to the Degas & Music exhibition during Hyde after Dark will be free; donations welcomed.

Call the Museum at 518-792-1761, ext. 23 for additional information, to add your name to the Hyde after Dark electronic invitation list, or to purchase advance tickets. Individuals purchasing a new Museum membership at Hyde after Dark get in free of charge.

The event is sponsored by Davidson Brothers Restaurant and Brewery and Barefoot Wines. Media sponsor is The Chronicle.
