Hyde to hold Dr. Seuss reading March 2

A special event in The Hyde Collection’s programs for families is scheduled for Tuesday, March 2, in celebration of the birthday of Dr. Seuss.

Those who are six, sixteen, sixty-four, and more are invited to join The Hyde and event partner Red Fox Books for a reading by the Hyde’s Executive Director David F. Setford of Green Eggs and Ham. After the reading, children will have the opportunity to make a Seussical art project in the Museum’s Louis P. Brown Art Studio.

The Hyde event is part of the nationwide, National Education Association's thirteenth annual observance of Read Across America.NEA is calling America's children, both young and old, to celebrate Dr. Seuss'sbirthday and the joys of reading.

According to Setford, “This is the perfect event for children to enjoy the written word and the marvelous illustrations of one of the nation’s most beloved children’s authors.”

The reading will be held at 3 pm followed by the art-making session. The event is by donation. Seating is limited and last year’s event drew a large audience so reservations are requested. Call 518-792-1761 ext. 17.
