Hyde founder's tea set on display

As part of its annual holiday tradition, The Hyde Collection is displaying an elegant tea service once owned by Charlotte Pruyn Hyde, the Museum’s founder. The tea setting graces the seventeenth-century Baroque center table in the Dining Room of Hyde House through early

Each year, the Museum’s curatorial staff arranges a selection of decorative objects from the Pruyn Family Collection to highlight the gracious hospitality for which Charlotte Hyde was known. This year’s display features an English porcelain tea service ca. 1800 and is complimented by sterling silver spoons from Tiffany & Co., and an English tea strainer and tongs.

A traditional centerpiece arrangement, created by the Museum’s Garden Committee, completes the festive table setting in Hyde House.
