Discount exhibition admission with food program donation

As part of the Season of Degas, The Hyde Collection is offering a special weekend discount on Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20 to aid the food bank at the Warren-Hamilton Counties Community Action Program on Maple Street in Glens Falls.

Each visitor who brings in a canned goods donation for the food bank will receive fifty-percent off the general ticket price for viewing the Degas & Music exhibition, reducing the admission cost to $5 per person.

“The Hyde family, especially our founder Charlotte Hyde, regularly contributed to the betterment of the Glens Falls,” said David Setford, the Museum’s executive director. “With Degas & Music bringing more and more visitors to our neighborhood, we wanted to carry on the Hyde tradition of outreach to our neighbors just around the corner at Community Action.”

Donations will be collected over both days for delivery to the food pantry. According to Lynn Ackershoek who directs the food programs at Community Action, food supplies traditionally run quite low in the month of September so timing of the special weekend will coincide with a time of high need for the group’s clients. The Hyde requests that all food donations be canned only for ease of packaging and transporting to the food program.

Weekend hours are Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday, noon to 5 pm.
