This exhibition explored the historical, cultural, and visual foundation of the Blues through the medium of photography. Mathew Brady, Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange, Sally Mann, Gordon Parks, Eudora Welty and Edward Weston were among the 63 photographers featured in this exhibition. Visualizing the Blues: Images of the American South 1862-1999 was organized by The Dixon Gallery and Gardens and guest curated by Wendy McDaris.

The exhibition tour is accompanied by a color catalogue.
