May 15, 2005 - August 13, 2005

Comprised of borrowed works and objects from the permanent collection, this exhibition examines how singular elements – be it scrap wood, torn paper, or found objects – are combined or repositioned such that the result is greater than the sum of its parts, both aesthetically and intellectually. PIECES reflects how simple, everyday objects or even the slightest gestures can be infused with creativity and purpose to define new artistic expression.

The exhibition includes work by Joseph Beuys, John Chamberlain, Sol LeWitt, Betty Parsons, Judy Rifka, David Smith, Richard Tuttle, and others. The show will remain on view through August 14, 2005 in the Hoopes Gallery.
