Community Day: Draw Me a Story Exhibition Opening

Enjoy a full afternoon of family fun. Storytelling, tours, art projects, and more including a Facebook activity. Bring your favorite childhood book, get your picture taken with it, and we'll post it on our Facebook page for friends and family to enjoy.

Community Day:  Draw Me a Story  Exhibition Opening
We’re inviting the community to a FREE day of activities – for the whole family.

  • The Wood Gallery: family self-guided tours available from 12noon-5pm

  • The Hoopes Gallery: “Caskets of Jewels and Coffers of Gold… books, poetry, and story-sharing with and for children from 12noon-5pm.
  • Facebook Activity:  bring your favorite childhood book, or your child’s favorite, and get your picture taken with it. We’ll then post it on our Facebook page for you to share with family & friends.
  • 12noon-1:00pm in The Auditorium: storyteller Bairbre McCarthy offers Irish Folk Tales
  • 1:00-1:45pm in The Wood Gallery: interactive family tours
  •  2:00-3:00pm: illustrator and author Matthew McElligott, author of Benjamin Franklinstein LIVES! and The Lion’s Share
  • 3:00-4:30pm in The Art Studio: ongoing illustration and bookmaking activity
  • 3:15-4:00pm in The Wood Gallery: interactive family tours
