Experience the vast cultural differences highlighted in New York. Our visit to the Rubin Museum will introduce you to the spiritual and beautiful art of the Himalayas and surrounding regions. During a docent-led tour, you will learn of the artistic heritage of this culturally varied area of the world. The collection consists of paintings, sculptures, and textiles with diverse themes, including female Buddhas and thanka paintings dealing with life, death, and after-life concepts. The Rubin’s special exhibitions during our visit include Visions of the Cosmos, Bardo, and Remember That You Will Die.

Additional free time will be provided to explore the Rubin and have lunch in the surrounding neighborhood of Chelsea, known for its cultural diversity. After lunch, board the bus to visit another fabulous museum: The Morgan Library & Museum. A guided tour highlights the art, library, homes, and history of the founder, J.P. Morgan. The Morgan houses one of the world’s greatest collections of artistic, literary, and musical works from ancient times to the present day. Rembrandt, Picasso, Mozart, Dickens, Dylan, and Babar the Elephant are all represented at The Morgan.
