Nazi Art Theft - Lecture, Part I
noon
The Hyde Collection

The greatest theft of art in the twentieth century was carried out by the Nazis in Germany, beginning in 1933 and lasting until the end of World War II. This lecture and slide presentation offers a unique perspective on the study and understanding of Nazi policies, ideas, and methods through personal family tales relating to the looted artworks.

Dr. Evie Joselow, an independent art historian, appraiser, and lecturer, teaches design history and architectural history at the New York School of Interior Design, Pratt Institute, and New York University. Dr. Joselow served as the chief of research at the Commission for Art Recovery.

Rescheduled event from March 14, 2010
