The Hyde Collection has moved to position itself as a community-based, yet regionally oriented leader in the cultural life of the Capital and lower Adirondack regions. To that end, we focused on two primary objectives: being essential and exceptional. We took the lead by presenting the finest examples of artistic achievement available to us; by embracing our permanent collection and special exhibitions as inspiration for progressive educational and family programming; and by actively forming collaborative partnerships that expanded our sphere of service. With great purpose we dedicated ourselves to being among the most dynamic cultural institutions in the region.

The Hyde Collection's board and staff have been focused on the final stages of the Museum's comprehensive plan, which is titled Preserving the Legacy. As part of the Preserving the Legacy plan, a 6,600 sq. ft. art storage addition was constructed; the exterior stucco of Hyde House was replaced; a conservation-specific endowment was created; and the interior restoration of historic Hyde House back to its Hyde era (1936-1936) appearance has been completed. As you can see, The Hyde Collection proudly continues to carry on its founders' vision, from the interpretation of the Hyde House and the permanent collection to the creation of innovative exhibitions and programs: all for the education and benefit of new generations throughout Glens Falls, the Adirondacks, and New York's Capital Region.

It is an exciting and dynamic time for The Hyde Collection, as we meet our mission-driven objectives that will immediately improve the quality and scope of our service.
